Not so unclimbable

I’m believer of positive thinking. But in August I found myself wondering about the disconnect between believing in the bright side and giving it lip service. On a trip to the Lotus Flower Tower in Canada’s Cirque of the Unclimbables, Ian Altman and his multiple sclerosis showed me how unyielding persistence can bridge this gap.

Jackson Hole’s Résumé of the Year

Nowadays, if you’re vying for a highly prized job at one of Jackson’s outdoor public relations firms, you better come up with something clever. And digital.

Snowago: A Stomp or a Yard Sale?

snowago skiing online community social media slope ski

So I get this email this morning:

“I noticed that you are an avid slope-goer and that you love to blog about your slope experiences. I just wanted to introduce you to a new social network that just launched called Snowago. CASTEL Premiere Saturday

Arden Oksanen and Trask McFarland release the first episode of a series of films they’re calling CASTEL (Culture Adventure Sport Travel Education Life), but which I like to call “Around the World with John Verdon.” And who better to lead us on an exploration of the world’s mountain cultures than the ripping, gregarious, philosopher/skid Verdon, Mayor of Teton Village?

Entries for the Catchphrase Contest

Jackson Hole slogan sign last of the old west catchphrase

Just saw in the Daily that the JH News and Guide is holding a catchphrase contest, in which the public can enter their own choice of catchphrase to replace the old, careworn, clichéd, inaccurate, but it-still-aint-broke-’cause-it-never-made-sense-in-the-first-place catchphrase, “Last of the Old West.”

The contest ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. I would provide a link to the contest, but searching for the keyword “catchphrase” on the News and Guide website results in nada. As in nothing.
